FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Game at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months since relocating for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized a public practice at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side on 9 December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
