Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.
The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
